REIGN COAST INTO THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK

On Saturday, June 21, the Seattle Reign faced off against the Utah Royals in their final match before league play resumes on August 1.

Last weekend, the Reign pulled off an impressive comeback against the Chicago Red Stars, rallying from a 2-0 deficit. This week, they were looking to carry that momentum and pick up three points—and they wasted no time getting started.

Midfielder Ji So-yun opened the scoring in the 6th minute after a smooth assist from Maddie Dahlien. The Reign dominated the first 20 minutes, and Dahlien added a goal of her own in the 16th.

The Royals eventually responded in the 31st minute with a goal from Bianca St-Georges—her second of the season since joining Utah from North Carolina in February 2025.

But the Reign weren’t finished. Emeri Adames netted a brace, becoming the second-youngest player in NWSL history to do so. Her first goal came in the 66th minute, assisted once again by Ji So-yun, who notched her third assist of the day. The second came in the 88th minute after Nérilia Mondésir earned a penalty. Adames stepped up with veteran composure and slotted it home, sealing the Reign’s 4-1 win.

The Reign will return to the field on August 1 to take on Angel City at Lumen Field. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
