Storm fall against the Dream

An electric night at Climate Pledge Arena set the stage for a highly anticipated matchup between the Seattle Storm and the Atlanta Dream.

Before tipoff, Storm head coach Noelle Quinn addressed forward Alysha Clark’s ankle injury, stating that Clark is considered day-to-day. While her on-court leadership was missed, Quinn emphasized that Clark’s presence would still be felt from the bench.

The Storm entered the game riding an eight-game winning streak against the Dream and started strong. Skylar Diggins-Smith opened the scoring, setting the tone for a dominant first quarter. Seattle carried that momentum through the first half, outscoring Atlanta by 12 points.

But halftime sparked a shift. The Dream stormed back with a 29-point third quarter and kept up the pressure, adding 31 more in the fourth. The Storm fought to regain control in the final minutes, but the comeback fell short.

Despite the loss, the energy in the arena never wavered. The home crowd remained loud and engaged throughout the 40 minutes, creating a signature Storm home-court atmosphere.

Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard delivered a standout performance with 33 points, six rebounds and five assists. Diggins-Smith led Seattle with 20 points, four rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes of play.

The final score: Dream 94, Storm 87.
