Washington Volleyball sweeps Big10 opener
The University of Washington volleyball team entered Friday night’s Big 10 opener with an impressive 10-0 record, marking their first unbeaten non-conference run since 2016. Their goal was clear: to maintain that momentum and claim their first conference win of the season against the 7-4 Indiana Hoosiers.
The Huskies came out strong in the first set, quickly establishing dominance with a 25-18 win. However, the second set saw the Hoosiers push back, making things tougher for Washington. Still, with the energy of the fans behind them, the Dawgs powered through, taking the second set 25-20.
In the third set, the Huskies regained their earlier form, securing another commanding 25-18 victory to close out the match. Emori Bush led the team, recording 11 kills and 14 points in a standout performance.
The Huskies look to continue their success Saturday night when they take on the Illinois Fighting Illini at 7 p.m. in Alaska Airlines Arena.
