Seahawks Look to Different Results against the Steelers

After a tough loss to division rivals San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks are preparing to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road. Still searching for their first win of the season, Seattle will be facing a familiar face—former wideout DK Metcalf.

After six seasons with the Seahawks, Metcalf requested a trade and now suits up for Pittsburgh. During his time in Seattle, Metcalf left his mark on the franchise, including a 71-yard reception against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 that broke the Seahawks’ record for the most touchdown receptions of at least 50 yards.

But Metcalf isn’t the only challenge. The Seahawks defense will be tested against Aaron Rodgers, who joined the Steelers this offseason. In Week 1, Rodgers led Pittsburgh to a 34–32 victory over his former team, the New York Jets, throwing for 244 yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-30 passing.

On the other side, Seattle is looking to get more out of new quarterback Sam Darnold, who completed 16 of 23 passes against San Francisco but struggled to find the end zone. Safety Julian Love leads the team with 10 tackles through two weeks, while third-year receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has emerged as the Hawks’ leader in receiving yards.

After last season’s early playoff exit, Seattle is hoping to rewrite its 2025 story with a statement win in Pittsburgh.
