Seahawks fly above the steelers.
Sunday, September 14, the Seahawks faced old friend DK Metcalf and the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The scoring opened with a touchdown from rookie Tory Horton, marking both his first NFL touchdown and his first in a Seahawks jersey.
Aaron Rodgers was able to find his 508th career regular-season touchdown pass now tied with Brett Favre.
The Steelers struck back quickly, as Metcalf scored against his former team to give Pittsburgh the lead. They extended it soon after, making it 14-7. But true to their reputation as a second-half team, the Seahawks showed resilience at Acrisure Stadium. Early in the third quarter, Sam Darnold connected with AJ Barner for a touchdown in the 6th minute, tying the game 14-14.
Momentum shifted again in the fourth quarter. On a kickoff return, the Steelers failed to secure the ball in the back of the end zone. The ball bounced over rookie returner Kaleb Johnson, and George Holani pounced, recovering it for a Seahawks touchdown. Pittsburgh’s only answer came from a Chris Boswell field goal, as their offense struggled to break through Seattle’s defense.
The Seahawks ultimately sealed a 31-17 victory, bouncing back strong after a tough loss to the 49ers. They return home in Week 3 to face the Saints.
