RUN DOWN OF THE EUROS

We are less than 2 weeks away from the 2025 Women’s Euros kicking off in Switzerland, here is a little run down for what you need to know for tapping into this tournament.

The tournament consists of 4 groups of 4 countries to begin the tournament.

  • Finland

    Iceland

    Norway

    Switzerland (hosting)

  • Belgium

    Italy

    Portugal

    Spain (2023 world cup winner)

  • Denmark

    Germany

    Poland

    Sweden

  • England

    France

    Netherlands

    Wales

Looking at these teams there are a lot of familiar teams that are large in the world of the sport. Spain having won the 2023 World Cup, England having won the prior Euros. Even more excitingly we have some newcomers to this year's lineup.

Poland and Wales making their debut in this coming tournament.

The tournament kicks off on July 2nd at Stockhorn Arena in Thun, Switzerland with Iceland v. Finland.

Picking a team to follow is one of the best parts of the tournament. Going into this Euros I know I have my eyes on the Lionesses as well as the Netherlands. Rooting for the underdog is something super exciting and fun so it would be cool to see the winners being someone who has never taken home the trophy. I will say that if I had to pick one team to follow I would saw it’s gotta be the Netherlands- featuring veterans Vivainne Miediema (Man City), Jill Roord (Vrouwen Eredivisie), and Danielle Van De Donk (London City Lionesses). The team's record this past year is 3-1-2.

Enjoy the Euros,

L
