A LOOK AHEAD TO UW’S 24-25 SEASONS
This year kicks off the University of Washington’s first year as a member of the Big 10 conference (however more like the Big 18). Challenges and excitement are in the air about finding a home in this new conference. Questions arise about what the year will look like.
Will UW football be able to continue the dominant streak of winning? Coach Jedd Fisch takes over the UW football teams after a triumphant 2023-2024 season that led to the National Championship. Will the Big10 which has powerhouses Michigan and Ohio State, prove to be too big of a challenge for UW or will UW adapt and find a way?
What will UW’s adjustment look like from the Pac-12 to the Big 10? The dynamics of the Pac-12 and the Big 10 are drastically different. Where UW was able to dominate, there now are new obstacles and powerhouses the Dawgs will have to face.
How will all the cross-country traveling impact athletes and their health both physically and mentally? The increased cross-country travel for athletics is something that has had fans asking questions since the announcement of the University of Washington joining the Big10. While some sports will potentially thrive with the new competition, others that have a more packed weekly schedule could be potentially harmful for student-athletes.
Excited to see what this season will bring. As always, go dawgs and go support your schools athletics.
